welcome to the Carolina Woodlab

Hello! I’m Eric. I am the owner, designer, and builder at The Carolina WoodLab, LLC. After starting to build furniture as a hobby in 2008, I officially started The Carolina WoodLab in December of 2018.

My entry into woodworking was more out of necessity than curiosity – it came about due to the fact that my wife and I needed furniture items that fit a specific need and size in our home. As someone with a background in mathematics, I found that I enjoyed the design aspect of woodworking – and discovered that I looked forward to the creative and building process, as well.

Over time, I have developed a passion for building dining tables. I love the idea that something I have created and built becomes a centerpiece of not only a client’s home, but of their time spent as a family. Tables have a unique way of bringing families together and I appreciate and am honored to know that I can be a part of that as a builder. However, tables are not the only furniture pieces I build! I’ve completed custom bookshelves, coffee tables, bathroom vanities and built-ins, kitchen islands, desks, beds, and other furniture pieces to fit the specific needs of my clients.

Why the “Woodlab”?

The reason I chose The Carolina WoodLab as the name of my business is because I have a desire to constantly learn. I have fond memories from my time in school of experiments and projects done in science and math labs and I wanted to reflect that engagement in my business. It doesn’t always happen, but I try to learn something new in every build I take on.
